Day 2

  • Gelati Monastery –it is a monument of Georgian architecture, which was founded in 1106 under the leadership of David the Builder. According to the testament, St. David the Builder was buried here. The tsar’s single fresco is preserved here. The Gelati complex is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
  • Bagrat Temple – it was built in the 10th and 11th centuries under the rule of Bagrat III. Historically, he is a symbol of united Georgia. Since 1994, the Bagrati Temple has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
  • Motsameta – the temple was built in the 11th century in the valley of the Tskaltsitela river. According to the legend the monastery was constructed on the place where Muslim aggressors executed David and Konstantin Mkheidze, Georgian princes, who refused to accept Islam.
  • Historical Museum of Kutaisi – The State Historical Museum was founded in 1922, which holds about 190,998 exhibits. The museum is a unique cultural heritage of the 9th-7th centuries BC from the late Middle Ages. It includes ancient monuments of archaeological discoveries of the Bronze period.

Day 3

  • Sataplia Cave – a small river has carved this cave over the centuries. To the right and to the left there are forests of stalactites and stalagmites. Scientists have discovered dinosaur footprints in the territory of Sataplia, which is a unique natural phenomenon in the world.
  • Martvili Monastery – the name of the Assumption of the Virgin was built in the VII century and is a model of Georgian architecture. The monastery preserved frescoes of the XIV, XVI and XVII centuries.
  • Dadiani summer residence – it was built by the head of Samegrelo Levan Dadiani. It is full of details of European architecture. The residence was visited by many notable nobles.

 Day 4

  • Dadiani palace – is one of the treasures of Georgia. He once served the representatives of the Dadiani family, who were very educated, multilaterally developed individuals with broad interests. The Dadianin Palace today is a historical and ethnographic museum, where unique and invaluable cultural and historical monuments are presented to guests.
  • Zugdidi Botanical Garden – was built in the last century, near the Dadiani Palace, as a decorative garden of the residence. Some trees in the garden for 200 – years and on the entire Eurasian continent are the only specimens.

Day 5

  • Enguri dam – it represents not only a hydroelectric station, but it is one of the most beautiful and breathtaking sights of Georgia. As long as it is located on the main road of the World Cultural Heritage Monument Zemo Svaneti (Upper Svaneti), this place is very attractive to tourists and locals alike.
  • Mestia is the regional capital of Svaneti. It is also the main centre of tourism for the region. It is a relatively small town of around 2,600 inhabitants, but it is the main service centre for the Svaneti region and as such has many of the characteristics of larger cities. It is a very tourist-friendly town

 Day 6

  • Latali Church – it was constructed during the 11th and 12th centuries. Of special note is the painting of the crowning ceremony of King Demetre I.
  • Svaneti Museum – it was founded in 1936. The museum guards more than 4,090 exhibits found during archaeological excavations on the territory of Svaneti, engraved ancient manuscripts and unique samples of iconography.
  • Hatsvali – Ski Resort Hatsvali is located in Svaneti, 8 kilometers from Mestia. Its maximum elevation is 2348 meters above sea level, though there is no snow in the summer, but it is amazing views over the mountains
  • Khergiani Museum – it was founded in 1983. His collection consists of 458 exhibits. Here are also the personal belongings of the famous climber, the International Master of Sports, nicknamed “Tiger of the Rocks” – Mikhail Khergiani.

  • Okatce canyon – it is located in the valley of the river Okatse. The length of the river is 14 kilometers. The canyon is decorated with several waterfalls. Several natural bridges are laid on the river. The canyon has caves from which karst waters flow.
